What Makes NEXUS Special?
The NEXUS team are completely dedicated to bringing the underground to the overground. We’re frustrated and tired of different communities being hidden away from the everyday eye. Because of this we’re doing our best to ensure that everyone knows that we support you. We don’t give two hoots as to the the colour of your skin, your sexual orientation, your religious beliefs, your class, your artistic talents (or lack of!) or your weird and wonderful quirks. What do we all have in common? We all want to have an awesome weekend, whatever it is you want to see or whoever it is you want to support. NEXUS is made up of a mixed group of lovely (if not a little daft) volunteers who just want to do something great. Come and join us, take a risk, try something new, we’d love to see you.
PLUS you’ll be helping to give something back to local artists who are putting their heart and soul into this weekend for your entertainment. All for less than the price of a round at the pub!
What Does It Get Me?
£15 might sound like a lot of money but if you break it down then you’ll see that you’re getting a bargain! Our Headline acts which include Hope & Social, Laughing Cows Comedy with their all female line up, Proto/Disco and Friday’s music line up at Belgrave Music Hall would all cost a tenner to get into as nights on their own. For £15 you can get into all of these events plus have access to NLab, Balbir Singh Dance, Opera North, LAB, Cleve Freckleton and his choir, stand up comedy, burlesque, dance performances, theatre shows, spoken word, installations, workshops and a whole heap more packed across four incredible venues!
And as if that wasn’t enough we’ve also lined up loads of further discounts including FREE entry to HIFI club on the Fri/Sat (saving £10/night!!) + queue jumping on the Sunday night, a scrummy FREE slice of pizza from Dough Boys, 15% off Frank Tailor suits, 15% off at Mediums art materials shop and plenty more!
Your £15 wristband will get you into EVERYTHING, giving you access to the full N E X U S experience. As the programme is so diverse we’ve decided that entry to each “wristband” only event is first come first serve – like you would at any other festival. So if you want to see your favourite act make sure you get down to the venue early!

NEXUS has been designed to offer a mix of freely accessible performance, presentations and interactions alongside “wristband only” events, gigs and shows. We’ve taken this approach so that we can support a wide range of work and get it seen by as many different people as possible.
From the accidental audiences on Briggate who might be out shopping to the avid followers of Barbara Nice (see comedy line-up) there is a specific thing you’ll want to see and a lot of other stuff you’ll be introduced to. All for £15. Not bad ay.

From headline bands homegrown in Leeds to vanguards of the Manchester queer culture scene showcasing a spectacular all-female comedy night at the Corn Exchange…right through to local legend Cleve Freckleton and his youthful gospel choir appearing out of nowhere to fill the Corn Exchange with music... We’re working hard with our friends in the industry to bring you a diverse programme that is as inclusive as it is broad.
